The Pirate Bay is now hosting banned 3D-printed gun documents. 3D printing has become quite the item of controversy following the idea of eliminating the need to buy things that have no complex machinery.
Not one, but three 3D printed cars were created for secret agent 007 James Bond for his recent film, Skyfall.
At 3D Printing News we have been shouting about the merits of 3D Printing Technology for nearly a year but now thanks to the 3D Print Show in London last weekend it seems that 3D Printing is finally getting the notice it deserves.
The movie industry is beginning to see how much value 3D printing offers, especially on effects-heavy films that are made with huge numbers of 3D digital models. This glove, used in ‘Iron Man 2,’ was made using a 3D printer, and is part of a full-body suit used in some of the film’s live-action scenes.
By: Karissa Campbell- Marketing Coordinator If you’re familiar with 3D printing, then I’m sure the Dimension Elite Printer shown in Tony Stark’s lab during Iron Man 2 was a pleasant surprise! If you missed it, watch it again and focus on the part of the movie when Tony takes the model of his father’s “ideal city” back to his lab. The FDM 3D printer, made by Stratasys , is shown in the background.
